Project Reactivated Following Years of Inactivity
Barcelona, 13/04/26
Grupo Empresarial Costa and Arum Group have spearheaded the reactivation of BonGolf—the residential, tourism, and sports complex located in Mont-roig del Camp (Tarragona)—following years of financial paralysis.
The operation involves an investment of approximately €50 million dedicated to the acquisition and comprehensive renovation of the resort.
The complex, formerly known as Bonmont, has a history of failed projects dating back to its initial development in the 1990s. The original plan featured an international brand hotel that was halted during the financial crisis, and subsequent attempts to revive the site failed to materialize.
Following the acquisition of all assets between 2024 and 2025, the new owners are implementing a strategy to reposition the asset as a high-value tourism destination.
Focus on Premium Tourism Repositioning
The investment plan outlines a complete overhaul of the complex, centered on the luxury and premium segments.
A key pillar will be the renovation of the golf course, incorporating new landscaping techniques to enhance the player experience and align the facility with international standards.
The existing 136-room hotel will undergo an integral rehabilitation to become a five-star Grand Luxury establishment, meeting the demand for high-end tourism on the Mediterranean coast.
This strategic repositioning aims to capture both international and national clients by integrating tourism, sports, and residential offerings within a single destination.
Diversification and Growth Strategy
The operation reinforces the diversification strategy of Grupo Empresarial Costa. While widely known for its prominence in the meat industry through Costa Food Group, the holding company is steadily increasing its footprint in the hotel and tourism sectors.
Arum Group, a developer led by Jordi Robiant, contributes its expertise in real estate development to execute a project that combines asset repositioning with long-term value creation.
With this investment, BonGolf aspires to become a benchmark for premium tourism on the Costa Daurada, amidst growing demand for exclusive experiences linked to leisure, gastronomy, and sport.
